Professional Biography


Ms. Cooper is the former chair of the Firm's Complex Torts Group. Her practice focuses on assisting companies and governments with ongoing legal issues and litigation matters, including coordination of nationwide litigation. Ms. Cooper also assists clients with the development of in-house legal project management programs. She serves as national coordinating counsel for all litigation matters for an Atlanta-based global company and as national coordinating counsel for all U.S. warranty litigation for a German auto manufacturer.

Ms. Cooper has a strong commitment to the advancement and support of women in the legal profession. She is the 2018 recipient of the Baker Donelson Work-Life Warrior Award in recognition of her commitment to promoting a healthy work-life balance and for advocating on behalf of work-life balance issues for others. 

  • National coordinating counsel for the world's largest claims servicing company.

  • National coordinating counsel for U.S. warranty litigation for a German auto manufacturer.

  • Obtained summary judgment on claims of breach of contract and negligence against a claims servicing company. Affirmed on appeal to the Ohio Second District Court of Appeals.

  • In a case of first impression, successfully argued to the Iowa Supreme Court that there is no cause of action for bad faith against a third-party administrator of workers' compensation claims.

  • Obtained summary judgment in a case where an insurance policyholder sought to impose a duty to warn upon a catastrophe claims administrator for a death arising out of Superstorm Sandy.

  • Defense verdict at jury trial on claims of negligence, trespass, strict liability for ultra hazardous activity and nuisance, arising out of claims by several adjacent property owners that effluent ponds at waste water treatment facility in Florida were causing subsurface migration of water and contaminants to their property.

  • Defense verdict in a federal jury trial on behalf of a development company for claims of alleged Clean Water Act violations, trespass, and nuisance, arising out of the development of a residential subdivision.

  • Developed a legal project management program for a corporate legal department, including defensible eDiscovery practices and a budget management program.

  • Listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Product Liability Litigation - Defendants (2020 – 2025) and Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants (2021 – 2025)
